I Googled her and she still looks fantastic and youthful at 51. So, why wasn’t she? I don’t recall seeing Mädchen in anything else was she pushed as a movie star in the 90s, or…? Did she just have bad representation? It’s rare for someone virtually unknown to me to make such an impression. She could have been Hollywood’s brunette answer to, say, Sharon Stone. Plus, she was superlative in the part and was very convincing as this calculating, cold Hitchcockian femme fatale. In one courtroom scene, she has her hair slicked back into a low bun and could almost pass for Linda Evangelista. I vaguely recalled her from “Twin Peaks,” but she looked absolutely ravishing in this film, to the point where I couldn’t even focus on the also very fetching Spader. Why wasn’t she more successful? I just watched her in “Dream Lover,” costarring James Spader, and was awestruck by her beauty.
